After monitoring the new-generation Maruti Alto 2022 model earlier today, the upcoming Maruti Celerio has been monitored completely undisguised. In 2021, Maruti Suzuki Celerio was monitored several times during testing, the most recent being during a TVC filming in Pune.
Scheduled to be launched in November 2021, the new Celerio has begun to arrive at the dealer's showroom for training. Below is an exclusive image of the 2022 Maruti Celerio white option.
Unofficial reservations for the new Celerio have been opened at selected Maruti Arena dealers. The down payment for reservations ranges from 5,000 rupees to 11,000 rupees, depending on the distributor. This is refundable. The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback will be based on the company's Heartect platform. This will help the car to further reduce weight, thereby improving fuel efficiency.
Compared with the current similar products, it will get a major appearance update, and has a more square design. The feature update will include a new black front grille with chrome-plated slats, swept-back headlights, a muscular hood and a larger body color ORVM. Check out the detailed roaming video of the new Maruti Celerio below.
It will also be equipped with fog lights, blackened B-pillars, multi-spoke alloy wheels and tapered rooflines, all of which combine to provide a more sporty posture. The tail will surround the taillights, new rear bumper, reflector and integrated spoiler, and high-position brake lights. Rear wipers and washers, traditional antennas and door handles of the same color as the body will also be part of the functional update.
With the updated appearance, the new generation of Maruti Celerio hatchback has also received an improved interior. As spy photos show that it will be larger and more spacious than its predecessor, this may be related to the increased cabin space.
It will be seen through an improved interior, a new center console and a SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also be equipped with a multifunction steering wheel with steering mounted audio control, electrically adjustable ORVM and keyless entry.
The new Heartect platform is also expected to improve security. Safety features have also been updated, including dual airbags, rear parking sensors, speed warning system and driver and co-pilot seat belt reminders, as well as ABS and EBD.
The new generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio will continue to be powered by the new 1.0-liter K10C gasoline engine. Compared with the current 1.0-liter K10B engine, it is different. The engine can provide 67 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque. A more powerful 1.2-liter gasoline engine will not be provided. The engine is used in conjunction with a 5-speed manual device and AMT option. The new Celerio CNG option is expected to be launched later.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio will compete with Hyundai Santro and Tata Tiago in its market segments. It will also have Wagon-R and S-Presso in its stables. The current Maruti Celerio is priced between Rs 465,000 to Rs 600,000 (ex-showroom). Taking into account the feature update and the new Heartect platform, it can be expected that the price of the new generation of models will increase slightly.
