The GTX 1650 uses a new TU117 GPU, which is a smaller and thus less expensive variant of the TU116 that powers the GTX 1660 and 1660 Ti cards. The key differences relative to the 1660 line are in the memory configuration and number of SMs (Streaming Multiprocessors), which in turn determines the number of CUDA cores, texture units, and ROPs. It's still built using TSMC's 12nm lithography, leaving 7nm for AMD's Radeon VII for now. The result is a die size that's about a third lower than the TU116, with 4.7 billion transistors.

Kicking things off for EVGA is the company’s GeForce GTX 1650 XC Black Gaming card, which uses a single-fan thermal solution. Unlike many single-fan cards, this one is not particularly compact, though its length falls just short of EVGA’s other GTX 1650 cards. (All of EVGA’s GeForce GTX 1650 cards use the same PCB and fall roughly within the same dimensions.) As a result, this card is a couple of inches longer than some competing single-fan solutions from, for example, Gigabyte and PNY. This is also one of the thicker single-fan thermal solutions, as the card’s beefy aluminum heatsink extends the card’s height to the point that it fills almost three slots across. The large heatsink will undoubtedly benefit the GPU’s thermals, but this may not be the best GTX 1650 if you are putting together a compact mini-ITX PC.
