Abstract: Driving rating information for other vehicles in an external environment of a vehicle can be provided. The external environment of the vehicle can be sensed to detect the other vehicles. Driving rating information for the other vehicles can be received, such as directly from the other vehicles or from a remote driving ratings source. The driving rating information for the other vehicles can be presented within the vehicle. Based on such driving rating information, a vehicle occupant can decide whether or not to lead or follow a particular vehicle in the external environment. If a selection of one of the identified one or more vehicles is received from a vehicle occupant, the vehicle can be caused to implement one or more driving maneuvers relative to the selected vehicle.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for reducing a refrigerant pressure difference within are HVAC system having a controller, one or more compressors, and at least two paths of refrigerant piping comprising alternative paths for refrigerant flow through the HVAC system. A valve is coupled to each refrigerant piping path for permitting, or preventing, refrigerant flow through each of the alternate paths of refrigerant piping. The controller may open at least one valve for a defined period of time in response to a triggering input to allow a refrigerant pressure difference within the HVAC system to dissipate across the opened valve.

Abstract: Downhole tools and methods and systems associated therewith, wherein the downhole tools comprise a body and at least one sealing element comprising an aqueous-degradable thermoplastic rubber copolymer composed of a thermoplastic component and a rubber component. The thermoplastic component is present in an amount of about 5% to about 95% by weight of the aqueous-degradable thermoplastic rubber copolymer, and at least a portion of the sealing element hydrolytically degrades when exposed to an aqueous fluid.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a multi-beam antenna is described. The multi-beam antenna includes a reflector having a single reflector surface defining a first focal region and a second focal region. A first feed group is located within the first focal region. The first feed group includes a first feed oriented relative to the reflector define a first beam pointed in a first direction. The multi-beam antenna further includes a fixed attachment mechanism attaching the first feed group to the reflector such that a position of the first feed group is fixed relative to the reflector. The multi-beam antenna further includes a second feed group located within the second focal region. The second feed group includes a second feed oriented relative to the reflector to define a second beam pointed in a second direction. The multi-beam antenna further includes an adjustable attachment mechanism attaching the second feed group to the reflector in an adjustable relation to the reflector, whereby a difference between the first direction and the second direction is adjustable.

Abstract: A method of determining angular position ([b]0[/b]) of a rotor of an N-phase permanent magnet motor (PMM). A processor having an associated stored angular position determination (APD) algorithm is programmed to implement the algorithm to cause an associated motor controller to execute steps including forcing one vector at a time a phase vector set of current or voltage vectors to stator terminals of windings for the N-phases a positive and negative magnitude vector, wherein the vector magnitude is sufficiently small to not move the rotor, and a time duration for the forcing current or voltage vectors is essentially constant. The resulting stator current or voltage levels are measured for each current or voltage vector. An N-dimension current vector or voltage vector is generated from superposition of the resulting stator current levels or resulting stator voltage levels. The N-dimension current vector or voltage vector is used to determine angular position.
